However within 2 hours from purchase on 1st day of sale in Apple Stores .. We activated the cancellation process of the contract/purchase, available under the Australian 2 year Contract/Warranties Law & the 30 day Cooling Off Period (law) for all new contracts, due to the buggy operating system.
This process takes up to 10 days to complete but usually is finalised within a few days.
The cancellation process has a sucess rate of over 90%.
We have paused this cancellation (as one can do) for the time being until we see what fixes Apple may or may not have in this coming week with the possible introduction of iOS 8.1 or 3rd GM or FULL Public iOS release ??
We have done this out of fairness to Apple & out of wanting to keep this beautiful piece of art called the iPhone 6 Plus.
We wait in antisipation .. (and frustration) .. for a permanent fix .. of this 'Vista' style OS mess .. and pray for a miracle .. which seems highly un-likley at this point in time.
We give it just one more week .. or we un-pause our action against Apple with TIO (Telecommunication Industry Ombudsman) Australia.
We can tell you though that the damage done to Apple's reputation is enormous here in OZ due to all the recent issues & the $250 more we pay ($999 .. 16 gig) for this Apple product compared to US buyers retail price.
Samsung's new line of Notes is looking very promising now for the Apple fanatic masses here in OZ .. especially 'The Edge' .. which is due for release within weeks.
Side note:
The Australian Federal Government is investigating the billions of $s of un-paid taxes by Apple and 19 other international companies and have asked for a 'PLEASE EXPLAIN'.
For the record .. Apple has a tax haven in Ireland and thus pays ZERO taxes in Australia. This loophole is about to be plugged once & for all.
